Hyderabad: Auto rickshaw scheme for poor Muslim drivers will be launched at Nizam College Ground on Sunday 13th March. Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Dy. CM of Telangana State, would handover new Auto rickshaws to the selected poor Muslim drivers. This scheme is being implemented by Minorities Finance Corporation. The Govt. had decided to provide 1000 Auto rickshaws to poor Muslim drivers but later CM decided to give Auto rickshaws to 1700 applicants. Under this scheme 50% subsidy is provided whereas the remaining 50% amount would be granted as loans by the banks. Govt. had decided to launch this scheme in November on the occasion of Minorities Welfare Day but due to the non-cooperation of Minorities Finance Corporation, its implementation was delayed.
