‘Azhar’ in trouble as Ravi Shastri miffed with portrayal of his role

New Delhi: Emraan Hashmi starrer Azahar, a biopic of former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin, which has been released on last Friday. Not even a week since its release and the number of people miffed with their portrayal in ‘Azhar’ just seems to be growing longer.

After Sangeeta Bijlani expressed concerns over her representation in the film and Manoj Prabhakar threatened to take legal action, the latest person to be upset is former cricketer Ravi Shastri , who has been shown cheating on his wife in the film.

The movie which has been directed by Tony D’Souza continued to be in the controversy with many people slamming their portrayal in the movie in a wrong manner.

Though the film, in which actor Emran Hashmi plays the character of Azhar, TV star Gautam Gulati has portrayed the character of his then teammate ‘Ravi’.

In the movie, Gautam Gulati has enacted the role of Ravi Shastri, who has shown as a womaniser. In one of the scenes, he was also seen cheating his wife during a foreign tour where she accompanies him. The portrayal of his character in this manner has irked Shastri.

Azharuddin’s ex-wife Sangeeta Bijlani and ex-cricketer Manoj Prabhakar have allegedly registered their complaints with film makers for wrong projection of their characters.
