Bad weather forces Venkaiah Naidu’s plane to land at Bhopal

Bhopal: A chartered plane carrying Union ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Narendra Singh Tomar along with other BJP leaders was on Monday diverted to Bhopal as it could not land in Gwalior due to “inclement weather”.

“The plane carrying the Union ministers was scheduled to land in Gwalior but due to bad weather it was diverted to Bhopal,” a senior police official told PTI.

The BJP leaders were on their way to Gwalior from Allahabad after taking part in the party’s national executive meeting.

Besides the ministers, others on board were Madhya Pradesh state unit BJP president and Khandwa MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Madhav Dave.

The ministers will now leave for Gwalior today morning, the official added.
