Bajrang Dal activists beat a Muslim for going shopping with a Hindu girl

Mangaluru: Bajrang Dal have once again taken up moral policing in the communally-sensitive coastal area of Karnataka State. Police arrested five Bajrang Dal activists for allegedly assaulting a Muslim youth, Arshad (21) who was seen shopping with a Hindu girl in a Forum Fiza Mall in Mangaluru city.

The police is also in search of other five suspects related to this incident who are absconding.

 

A gang of 10 Bajrang Dal activists saw the couple coming out of the shopping mall. One of them asked the name of the girl. When she disclosed her name, they asked her to go home.

 

According to the news published in Daily Mail, when she tried to confront them, they ordered her to “mind her own business or face dire consequences”.

 

The gang forced Arshad into a van. They took him to an isolated place on the outskirts of the city and beat him up.

 

Meanwhile, the girl lodged a complaint with the police and on the details provided by her, police arrested Chetan (22) from Kujathbail, Rakshit (23) from Sringeri, Sushanth Shetty (23) from Karkala, Sharat Kumar (20) and Ashwin Raj (21) from Mangaluru on Monday and the other five accused are absconding.

 

According to the details of the case, Arshad works in a private firm in Dubai. He had recently come back to Mangaluru city. He made friendship with the girl who is a student of a college in Manipal through Facebook. The girl hailed from Maharashtra and both of them decided to meet in Mangaluru.
