Ban Ki-moon to be invited for Buddhist Conference in Nepal

Kathmandu : Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anand Prasad Pokharel shared that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon had shown interest in the country’s peace process.

Speaking at a press meet, Pokharel said international dignitaries, including the UN Secretary General, would be invited for the upcoming International Buddhist Conference.

The three-day conference beginning on May 19 is being held on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the birthday of Lord Buddha, reports Himalayan Times.

He also reminded the assistance that the UN provided during the peace process in Nepal.

Earlier, the UN Secretary General had inquired about the development of Lumbini and the Lumbini master plan. (ANI)
