Bangladesh detectives round up six suspected militants

Dhaka, Dec. 4 : Detectives in Bangladesh have rounded up six suspected members of a new militant outfit “Mujahid of Bangladesh” from Dhaka’s Motijheel as they were planning to kill a local religious leader.

According to the Daily Star, the six are Jahirul Islam alias Ansar, Khandakar Rajes Subhan alias Raju, Abu Bakkar Siddique alias Abir, Abraham Ahmed Al Tareque, Morshedul Islam alias Kingmore Khan, and Kazi Bappi Ahmed alias Sazzad.

Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said that the outfit is yet to have an organisational structure.

He said a DB team conducted a raid in Motijheel and picked up the six. The team also seized a laptop and 10 mobile phones from them. (ANI)
