BCCI forms ad-hoc committee for managing RCA

In a relief for Rajasthan cricketers, the BCCI has constituted an ad-hoc committee for managing cricket affairs in the state.

The committee has been tasked to ensure the participation of Rajasthan teams in various BCCI tournaments in the upcoming domestic season.

The Indian Cricket Board had suspended the RCA two years ago after former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi was elected as its president.

After BCCI’s suspension, 75 cricketers from the state had filed a petition in the Rajasthan High Court requesting the court to intervene to safeguard players’ future.

The committee consists of CK Khanna, Milind Kanmadikar, Snehal Parikh and PV Shetty. Amrit Mathur will be the coordinator of the committee.

Commenting on the appointment of the committee, Jagmohan Dalmiya, BCCI President, said: “This step is in line with the BCCI philosophy of keeping the interest of cricket and the players on top priority. Like any other side playing domestic cricket in India, Rajasthan cricketers will have all the facilities, exposure and opportunities to perform and excel.”

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said, “This move is to ensure that the interests of players are protected and they are provided every possible opportunity to showcase their talent. The BCCI is committed to support cricket in Rajasthan and ensure that players at all levels are able to play and participate in BCCI tournaments in a positive environment.
