Beating of Sikh student in Hyderabad raised in LS

New Delhi: The issue of a Sikh student, mistaken for a Kashmiri, being beaten up in Hyderabad was raised in the Lok Sabha today.

Raising the matter during Zero Hour, Prem Singh Chandumajra (SAD) said that earlier it used to be heard that students are beaten up abroad, but Sikhs lack identity even within the country.

“Kashmir is already on fire… Through such actions do they want to put the entire country on flames,” asked Chandumajra.

Raising the issue of abduction of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy, T G Venkatesh Babu (AIADMK) demanded that the Ministry of External Affairs should take up the issue with the island nation for immediate release of 77 fishermen.

Chandrakant Khaire (Shiv Sena) took up the issue of suspension of Amarnath Yatra and said that people who have already started for the pilgramage, should be allowed to visit the holy shrine.
