Mewat: Officials in Haryana collected samples of biryani from shopkeepers and vendors from Mundaka village in Muslim dominated district of Mewat of Haryana in the wake of the reports of beef biryani being sold
The lab report of the samples collected for testing is likely to come by Thursday evening, reports News18.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the samples, collected jointly by animal husbandry department and police, were sent for testing to a lab at Hisar’s Haryana Agricultural University.
In order to keep a tab on alleged beef consumption, the Manohar Lal Khattar government last week issued orders to carry out inspections of eateries and vendors and to collect Biryani samples to ensure no outlet is serving beef.

As Bakra-Eid or Eidul-Adha approaching, officials say more samples would be collected will be collected from across the district during that period.
“We collected the samples and handed them over to the police. More samples will be collected from Mundaka, Ghasera, and Ferozpur Jhirka area in coming days,” Narender Kumar, Deputy Director of Mewat Animal Husbandry Department, said.
The report furthered that Cow Protection Task Force (CPTF) will deploy more informers in areas where there is suspicion of high beef consumption.
Former Transport Minister Aftab Ahmed said that this was a deliberate move by the state government to defame the Muslim community.
Haryana was one of the first states in the country to ban beef consumption and there is rigorous imprisonment up to 10 years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
