I will eat beef, who are you to stop? Dares Karnataka CM

The controversy on beef ban does not seem to end the latest political leader Karnataka’s Cheif Minister Siddaramaiah jumps into it.

“I haven’t had beef. But I will eat. Who are you to question? Whatever is comfortable for me, I will eat.” he said referring to the BJP leaders’ objection to beef consumption while interacting with the media in Bengaluru on Thursday.

He recalled the Kerala House incident where the police entered the premises after hearing rumours about beef being circulated. He also called the right-wing organisations like the Sri Ram Sene,Bajarang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishat were showing growing levels of intolerance under the BJP regime.

Siddaramaiah said ,“The killing of a Muslim man in Dadri for eating beef, the murder of Kalburgi, Pansare, Dabholkar the Dalit children in Haryana have thoroughly exposed the communal and casteist agenda of the BJP and the RSS.”

Around 40 writers and 12 filmmakers have returned their government awards in protest against the “growing intolerance in the country” and Sahitya Akademi Award winner MM Kalburgi and the murders of Kannada writer and Narendra Dabholkar and anti-superstition activists Govind Pansare.
