Bhatti urges CM to declare health emergency

TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to declare Health Emergency in the State as hundreds of people were dying with Dengue fever.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Bhatti alleged that people had spent Rs 10 crore on Dengue fever only in Ravinuthala village under Bonakal mandal of Khammam district. The people had to mortgage their assets to meet the medical expenses, he alleged. Dengue fever was spreading due to the government’s apathy, he claimed and demanded that the government extend Rs 10 lakh ex gratia each to the families of people died with Dengue.

Demanding that the State government declare health emergency in the State, Bhatti also faulted Governor ESL Narasimhan for stating that the governance in the State was good. He said it was unfortunate that the State government failed to release funds to the sanitation and questioned as to where the funds allotted under Swachh Bharath scheme have gone. The State government was taking away Gram Panchayat funds from Sarpanches. He demanded that the government release funds for ‘Mana Vooru-Mana Pranalika’ program. (NSS)
