Bihar to name college after Kalam

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said the Kishanganj Agriculture College will be named after former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

“The government has decided to rename the college as A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Agriculture College,” Nitish Kumar told the media.

Nitish Kumar said Kalam was always concerned about Bihar’s development, especially the rural areas. “Bihar was close to Kalam’s heart.”

Before leaving for Delhi to pay respect to Kalam, who passed away on Monday evening in Shillong, Nitish Kumar said Bihar and its people had high regards for him.

Most Bihar schools were closed on Tuesday as a mark of respect to Kalam, an official said.
