Bihar polls: EC to review preparations for remaining phases

Patna: Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi and two election commissioners will arrive here on Sunday for a two-day visit to the state to review preparations for the remaining phases of Assembly Elections.
They will have discussions with Civil and Police authorities and will also meet representatives of political parties here today. They will also review of election expenditure management with CEO, Police, Excise and Income Tax officers.

The Commissioners will visit Muzaffarpur tomorrow and review poll preparedness with DEOs, SSPs, Commissioners, IGs and DIGs.

The Commissioners will address a press conference at Muzaffarpur before returning to the national capital.

Polling for the first two phases has already been completed. 57 percent voting was recorded in the first phase and 55 percent was recorded in the second phase of the Assembly Elections.

While the third phase is scheduled for the 28th of this month, the fourth phase will be held on the November 1. The final phase will take place on the 5th of next month.

The counting of votes will be taken up on the November 8.
