Bihar topper Ganesh admitted using unfair methods in examination

Patna: Bihar topper Ganesh Kumar, who was arrested for manipulating his age in Bihar board intermediate examination on June 2 has admitted using unfair means for passing the examination in a police interrogation.

The 42-year-old had mentioned his age as 24 while appearing in the Bihar Board Class 12 exams. During the interrogation, Ganesh told the police that he did everything with the help of Sanjay Kumar, a mediator who charged money for it, reported HT.

“Sanjay had even arranged the birth certificate and enrolled him in class 8 of Sanjay Gandhi high school, Laxmania in Samastipur earlier,” the police said.

Police informed that Ganesh was interrogated in front of Sanjay and the principal of Sanjay Gandhi high school Dev Kumari. The principal reportedly admitted her fault in admitting Ganesh, despite knowing facts about him, said an officer.

Kumari, her husband Ramkumar Choudhary, and their son Gautam Kumar were sent to Beur jail late on Monday evening after interrogation.

The Police are also conducting raids in Patna and Samatipur in search of the people involved in the racket. The Patna police had taken Ganesh on 24-hour remand for interrogation on Monday evening.
