Hyderabad: A 31-year-old auto driver caught for burglary stunned the police with his ‘confessions’ during interrogation.
The culprit Joseph James admitted that he intentionally had unprotected sex with around 300 women, despite knowing to be HIV-positive, police said on Tuesday.
According to a report in the TOI, James is a resident of Mirjalguda in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, was caught by cops after he stole five tola of gold from his friend’s house in Uppal.
Because of his suspicious movements, he attracted the attention of a police party checking vehicles at Uppal and took him into custody in the case of theft.
And while interrogating, he shocked the investigators with his confession to have sexual intercourse with approximately 300 women who were mostly his passengers and married.
“He also confessed that he has been suffering from HIV disease, which he came to know about several months ago. The auto driver also claimed he visits prostitutes daily and has illicit affairs with several other women, with whom he practiced unsafe sex even after realizing about his disease,” Khaja Moinuddin, Uppal inspector (Detective), stated.
The auto driver made up his mind to “live life to the fullest” when he came to know about his disease.
The driver had married thrice but his wives deserted him because of his odd habits. The culprit is now in judicial custody.
