BJD supporters pelt stones at Textile Minister Gangwar’s convoy

Bargarh (Odisha): The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supporters allegedly pelted stones at Union Textile Minister Santosh Gangwar’s car and tried to his convoy in Odisha’s Bargarh region today.

The protestors blocked the minister’s car and waved black flags in front of it. Some even tried to get close to the car, which was stopped by the police officials.

The Police officials on duty to guard the minister were seen having a tough time to reign in the agitators.

“The current government is in power for the last fifteen years, and thety have resorted to this to hide their failures. This will make us famous, we will get space in the news papers. We do not want to say anything against them,” Gangwar told media after the incident.

Gangwar was in Odisha to inaugurated a 45-day-long skill upgradation training programme for Scheduled Caste handloom weavers belonging to Sohlela Block in Bargarh district.

In the function held in the village Birjam, the Minister also gave away the certificates to pass outs of the first Handloom Entrepreneur training course.(ANI)
