BJP asks KCR to take up pending irrigation projects

Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy on Monday asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to take up pending projects before initiating new irrigation projects in the State.

Speaking to media persons along with BJP floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman in Mahabubnagar, Kishan Reddy said that Telangana Government was yet to begin works on Palamuru Irrigation Project whose foundation stone was laid with much fanfare. He said while KCR wants to spend Rs. 36,000 crore for Palamuru project, he was not willing to spend just Rs. 1,000 crore to complete the pending projects of Mahabubnagar district. He said that the completion of those projects would provide irrigation and drinking water facility to lakhs of people.

Kishan Reddy also slammed KCR for the proposed cheap liquor policy and said that the BJP would raise the issue in the forthcoming Assembly session as it would put the health of thousands of poor people at risk. (INN)
