BJP condemns CBI’s move against Sakshi group

Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Thursday slammed the Central Bureau of Investigation for freezing the bank accounts of Sakshi newspaper and TV channel, owned by Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in connection with disproportionate assets case.

Talking to media persons, Vidyasagar Rao said that the CBI’s move would affect the livelihood of thousands of employees and their family members. He demanded that the CBI immediately defreeze the accounts considering their livelihood. He said that the probing agency should find other alternative ways to investigate into the alleged investments in Jagathi Publications Limited without affecting the employees’ livelihood.

The BJP leader appealed to the Centre and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to intervene on the issue and direct the CBI to defreeze bank accounts of Sakshi group. He said that the government should take up responsibility of protecting the interest and welfare of employees working in the Sakshi group. (INN)
