BJP criticises `communal` politics played by Azam Khan

New Delhi, Oct.6 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday criticised Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare and Urban Development Minister Azam Khan’s comments, saying that the latter has a habit of playing ‘communal’ politics which has nothing to do with development and good governance.

“The politics of Azam Khan is communal. He plays on the religious card. He is not known for politics of development and good governance. He ranks, he spits and does everything which is communal and therefore he is raising the communal bogey which has no basis,” said (BJP) leader Siddharth Nath Singh.

“BJP criticises the comments made by Azam Khan and the people of this country will definitely reply, with interest, to him and the Samajwadi Party,” he added.

Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the Dadri lynching case, Azam Khan had earlier said that BJP’s sole agenda was development and has all of a sudden it started attaching importance to the beef controversy.

He also appealed to Prime Minister Modi to stop those who are spreading violence and communalism across the country.

“When the RSS has decided to make the nation a Hindu state, then there must be discussion on this. Modi ji is silent on this. We are appealing to him to stop the killers,” said Azam. (ANI)
