The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday demanded that the Telangana Government officially celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
Speaking to media persons here, BJP Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy said during the Telangana movement both TRS and Congress had promised to celebrate the occasion officially. Since TRS has now come to power, its government should celebrate the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ as official function. He said that the BJP would continue to pressurise the State Government on this issue.
Kishan Reddy alleged that the TRS was hesitating to organise official celebration due to its alliance with the MIM. He said he would produce the video and newspaper clippings of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself making the demand for official celebration of Liberation Day. (INN)
