BJP has nothing to do with cessation of Hyderabad, Round Table Conference

Hyderabad: A Round Table Conference was held at CESS, Punjagutta under the auspices of Dr. M. Channa Reddy Memorial Trust. Mr. M. Shashidhar Reddy presided over the conference. Former Speaker of Assembly, Mr. Suresh Reddy, Capt. L. Pandu Ranga Reddy, Dr. K. Chiranjeevi and others participated in the conference. Mr. Shashidhar Reddy told that in order to know the facts about the cessation of Hyderabad, authentic historical material is essential. We know that after the independence of India, smaller states were merged into Indian Union. The then Home Minister of India, Sardar Patel took the initiative to get Princely States merged into Indian Union but Kashmir, Junagarh and Hyderabad refused to join Indian Union. He further told that historical facts have to be brought to the notice of younger generation. This matter was also discussed during Telangana agitation started in 1969.

He further told that the last ruler of Hyderabad State, Mir Osman Ali Khan was a secular ruler. He utilized Govt. treasury for the benefit of the people.

Capt. Pandu Ranga Reddy told that BJP is politicizing this issue. He further told that BJP is organizing meetings in Warangal on 17th September in order to create hatred among the Hindus and the Muslims.

Dr. Chiranjeevi told that Nizam VII was a secular ruler. He further told that the case of Hyderabad was prepared by Mr. Sham Sundar to be submitted to Security Council of UNO. A delegation was sent to UNO under the leadership of Moin Nawaz Jung. He informed that Nizam VII did not refuse to join Indian Union. Celebrating the day of relief on 17th September would promote hatred among the Muslims.
