‘BJP raked up Uniform Civil Code issue to unite Hindu votes in UP’

Hyderabad: There is no possibility that the case pending with Supreme Court will be ruled in favour of Muslims. President Jamiat Ulama Hind, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Hafez Peer Shabbir Ahmed told this while speaking to press persons. He asserted that though the Jamiat is party to the case but there is no possibility of case to be ruled in favour of Muslims, as Muslims lack lawyers with thorough knowledge of fiqh (Shariah). These views were expressed at a round table conference organised by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind which was attended by city dignitaries belonging to various religions and schools of thought.

Maulana Syed Qubool Pasha Shuttari, Maulana Syed Shah Ali Akber Nizamuddin Husaini Saberi, Sajjada Nasheen Dargah Hazrat Shah Khamoosh, Maulana Hamed Mohammed Khan, Ameer-e-Jamat-e-Islami, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, Maulana Mohammed Raheemuddin Ansari, Maulana Syed Mohammed Ahmed Al-Husaini Sayeed Quadri, Maulana Abdul Mughanni Mazahari, Maulana Qazi Samiuddin, Mr. Mushtaq Malik, Maulana Arshad Qasmi, Tahaffuz Khatm Nabuwat, Maulana Mujahid Hashmi, Maulana Hafez Khaleeq Ahmed Saber, Mr. Muneeruddin Mukhtar, Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin, Balladeer Gaddar, Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, Mr. Nanak Singh Nashtar and others spoke on the occasion.

Attempt to interfere in Islamic Shariah was reviewed in present political scenario and most of the participants stressed the need to observe the issue by linking it with Uttar Pradesh elections.

Mr. Hamed Mohammed Khan said BJP is busy trying to unite Hindu votes in Uttar Pradesh by raking up Muslim Personal Law and Uniform Civil Code issue. If at this moment Muslims intensify the movement it would directly benefit BJP in Uttar Pradesh, he observed. Several other participants also echoed his views.

It was decided in the meeting to organise a women’s conference on large scale to create awareness among women and avail the opportunity to propagate Islamic Shariah and intensify signature campaign run by Muslim Personal Law Board.
