BJP strikes back at Kejriwal, says CM wants police control to protect ‘criminal elements’

New Delhi: Lashing back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s attack on the Central Government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said the former wants control of the city’s police force to protect ‘criminal elements’ in his party.

“Why is Kejriwal demanding police to be brought under him? He has always known that the police comes under the Union Home Ministry and not under Delhi government, he wants it because he has criminal elements along with him in his party and in his cabinet,” BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.

“Mr. Kejriwal wants to take the police under him perhaps to protect these criminal elements and see that no action is taken,” he added.

Kejriwal, who met the family of the Anand Parbat murder victim today, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should either set the law and order situation in the capital right or hand over the city police to the AAP Government. (ANI)
