Gulbarga: Citizens of Gulbarga belonging to different organizations protested strongly against Kamlesh Tiwari, who made highly blasphemous and objectionable statements against the Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). This rally was led by the All India Imams Council (AIIC) Gulbarga Unit.
While expressing satisfaction over the fact that he has been arrested, demand was made that he must be put to trial with strongest possible IPC sections, especially with non-bailable sections so that he could not able to encourage more such goons by coming out easily.
Kamlesh’s remarks are highly objectionable and every Muslim in India got hurt and will stand against them .He also insulted and spoke negatively about Madarsas and Masjids and tried to create an atmosphere of animosity. It may be noted here that Muslims hold Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) more than their children, families and anything else that they got. It is unfortunate that his personality which is actually an example to emulate is being tarnished by street side thugs.
The Protesting students of Madrsas and Ulema opined that It is really unfortunate that a fringe section of the society have found its voice in media and public sphere since last year and a half. Every now and then there is a race to see who can hurt the sentiments of a community more than others.
India has been a country of co-existence, tolerance and free speech. But in recent days all three have been put under threat. Anarchy now is labeled as freedom, while hate speech and provocation have been renamed as freedom of expression. Abuse of any person is a mischievous act, let alone the religious figures such as Prophet Muhammad and Jesus etc. When this mischief is coupled with hatred and provocation then it is outright crime. We have to enact stricter laws to prevent such instances in future.
We expect that government takes notice of the issue at hand and the larger picture that is being played out, failing which, we will be forced to intensify our movement.
