Bomb threat received for Jeddah-bound AI flight

Mumbai: The Air India on Thursday received a bomb threat for its Jeddah-bound flight.

The threat for the flight was received at Air India Bengaluru office, after which Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was convened. The committee, later, declared the threat as “non specific”.

The committee also recommended for intensifying security measures for flights on this route, including 100 percent hand baggage checks and secondary ladder checks, and thorough security check of baggage and cargo.

On Tuesday, bomb threats were received for five flights of Jet Airways, following which two flights were evacuated and searched.

Last Thursday, two flights were grounded at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport due to a bomb scare. (ANI)
