Hyderabad: Police have made elaborate arrangements for Bonal Pooja to be held today and the processions to be taken out tomorrow. Security has been increased at the temples. City Police Commissioner, Mr. Mahendra Reddy reviewed the arrangements of the police. He visited Akkanna, Madanna temple. He convened a meeting of inspectors of police of South Zone.
It may be noted that in the old city of Hyderabad, Bonal festival is celebrated every year on a large scale in which majority of women participate. City team and anti-snatching teams of the police have been mobilized. According to Mr. Satyanarayana, DCP of South Zone, Bonal festival will be celebrated on Sunday in 282 temples of Old City. Special pooja will be offered in 19 important temples. Police identified 30 important routes wherein CCTV cameras have been installed. In addition to these arrangements, BD teams, SHE teams, anti-snatching teams and plain clothes clad police teams have been deployed. In all, 3000 police personnel have been put on duty. Special Police Pickets have been setup at 75 sensitive areas. Police patrolling has been increased. Special vigil has been kept on anti-social elements. DCP gave a stern warning against any mischief by the anti-social elements.
