Box office success brings in good film offers: Sonam Kapoor

Basking in the glory of the success of her latest film “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, Sonam Kapoor says delivering hits do open up doors for interesting offers with producers keen on investing on an actor.

“Box office success often results in good film offers. People think after the success of the film…We can invest money in her. I don’t think it is ever because of us alone but it (success of a film) is also about the story and the honesty of the director,” Sonam told PTI.

But the 30-year-old actress doesn’t take success or failure too seriously as recognition of her work in the eyes of audiences matter the most.

“It (success and failure) doesn’t mean anything. I am happy when people like my work as you work for people. But I feel success and failure should affect you same way. I learn from failure and from success also that I need to work harder and do better,” she said.

With leading actresses opting for profit-share basis as remuneration, the “Khubsoorat” actress said she too goes for profit sharing, depending on the project.

“If I really like the story and if the budget doesn’t allow the director and producer to pay me my fee, then at that point we talk about profit sharing and stuff. I feel one should not overburden a film. There are other ways to take your worth from a film,” she said.

Meanwhile, on “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, Sonam said the biggest compliment came from her parents, actor father Anil Kapoor and mother Sunita.

“My father felt I was perfect in the film. My mother cried while watching it,” she said.

The Sooraj Barjatya-helmed film has set the box office register ringing. Sonam, however, says she doesn’t like to indulge in numbers and is happy with the response to the film.

“I don’t understand these numbers. I am happy with the response as people are praising my work. I did not expect that so many people will like me in the film considering it’s a Salman Khan-Sooraj Barjatya film,” she said.
