Boycott expensive marriages: Zahid Ali Khan


Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat told that due to un-Islamic rituals and inappropriate demands, the economy of the Muslims is getting weak. The Muslim community does not realize it. If money is saved in marriages, many poor families could be helped in performing marriage of the destitute girls.

The campaign initiated for their purpose is gaining popularity throughout the world . people from America, Canada, Australia, UK and other countries are searching Siasat’s website for matrimonial alliance. Despite being wealthy, the age factor has became a serious issue for the marriages of Muslims girls.

He further told that his campaign for simple marriage with one dish, and one sweet is producing positive results. He informed that he was told that at Golconda function hall, four valima dinners were arranged with one dish and one meet. A billionaire performed the marriage of his daughter by offering only one cup of tea to the guests.

He hoped that the mindset of the Muslim community will get a revolutionary change. The situations for the Muslims in the country are getting worse day by day. we are witness such incidents which are hair raising for us. A few days back, a Muslim girl aged 11 year was raped and killed in the Old City . This incident made us bow our head with shame. It is the worst example of our moral degradation.

He pointed out that the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily is to save the Muslim community from un-Islamic rituals. He lamented that late coming of the bridegroom for marriage function’s has become a routine. The evils of orchestra and music have became part of our weddings.

The marriage procession reaches the house of the bridegroom at the time of fajar which disturbs the sleeps of the residents of the locality. He appealed to the youngsters to refrain from un-Islamic rituals and traditions. So long as our campaign for simple marriage won’t be successful. He proposed that the marriages which are performed by spending huge amounts should be boycotted.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, MR.Mushtaq Malik, President of Muslim Shibban told that Du-ba- do programme has no parallel in the entire country. He congratulated MR. Zahid Ali Khan and his colleagues for it. He further told that asking for dowry is illegal (haraam) in Islam. He advised the parents not to give their daughters in marriage to the beggars which is shameful.
MR. Syed Iftekhar, Manager of Golconda Function Hall informed that four marriages were performed in a simple manner in which only tea and haleem were served to the guests.

MR.Abid Siddiqui, President of Minorities Development Forum welcomed the guests and parents and told that it is an Opportunity for the parents to select the matrimonial alliances of their choice.

Qari Syed Ilyas Basha recited the verses of the Holy Quran at the beginning of the programme. MR. Ahmed Siddiqui present nath-e-shareef . More than three thousand parents attended the function.

Present on this occasion were MR. Zaheer uddin Ali Khan, managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, MR. Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, MR. Javeed (SBH), mr. Hayath Hussain, MR. Ghulam Mohiuddin (Saudi Arabia) etc MR. Zahid Farooqui and his team made all the arrangement for the programme.
