BR Shetty calls on Naidu, Reviews progress of works

Dr. BR Shetty and his family members met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence last night and reviewed the progress on the MoU inked in the month of May this year.

BRS ventures from Abu Dhabi has committed an investment of $ 1.8 Billion (about Rs 12,000 crore) in Andhra Pradesh in healthcare, setting up of a university, tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure in the new capital city of Amaravati. In addition to the proposed projects in the MoU, B.R Shetty in his meeting showed keen interest to set up a 10,000 seat convention center which is going to be the biggest center in India.

On request of the Chief Minister, B.R Shetty has also shown interest in building a world-class exhibition center for holding international fairs and exhibitions. This will be built on lines of the Hannover Fairgrounds where the ‘Hannover Messe’ the world’s biggest industrial fair is held. In addition to the above two, he also showed interest to extend help in building an amusement park. B.R Shetty assured the CM that he could bring the best designers and builders for this project.

The MoU signed in the month of May includes setting up of 3500-bed world class hospital infrastructure in the state, including 1500 bed hospital at Amaravati, 300-bed hospital at Kurnool and 1700 beds in hospitals across the state, with emphasis on Cardiology, Diabetics and Oncology specializations. As a part of the MoU, A world class Medical University in collaboration with Global Ivy League University as a knowledge partner will also be set up.

In tune with Chief Minister’s vision to make Amaravathi a world-class capital city, with a robust financial, industrial ecosystem, BRS ventures proposed to come up with an  18 course Golf centre and an integrated hospitality ecosystem preferably on islands of the Krishna River. A green sustainable smart housing infrastructure in Amaravathi, along with a 1700 bed hospital in different areas of the State in Phase II and III also form a part of the MOU.
