Breast cancer cure centers in villages soon: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today inaugurated a “Pink Ribbon Walk” by flagging it off from Kasu Brahmananda Reddi Park at Banjara Hills on Sunday. The Pink walk took a U turn from Jubilee Hills check-post and returned to the Park.

The walk is aimed at creating awareness among women on breast cancer. A large number of women and children took part in the Run. Appreciating the Usha Lakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation for the event, the minister said the State government would help open Breast cancer detection centers in every village to check women of the problem and timely treatment.

The minister said women above 40 years must get themselves checked for breast cancer and get rid of from the problem. He also asked the women to take care of their health and lead their families better.

Tollywood actress Manchu Lakhsmi, cricketer Mithali Raj, IT official Jayesh Ranjan and others participated in the program. The walk was cynosure with pink balloons all around. Most of the children were seen carrying placards on breast cancer awareness. (NSS)
