Bright side of demonetisation, people cutting down on unnecessary expenses

Hyderabad: There is also a bright side of the demonetisation and limit on withdrawal from banks and ATMs post demonetisation. People have cut down on unnecessary expenses and are wisely spending small notes also, as they won’t get change of 2000 note easily. Thus a saving of Rs. 10000 per family is estimated within a month.

People habituated to eat out on weekends avoided to eat at hotels, restaurants and dhabas etc. Even the theatres goers also saw a decline. Markets which used to abuzz with activity wore a deserted look this marriage season. People prefer to remain indoors due to currency crunch. They are only buying things which are most necessary. A hotel owner substantiated this by saying that his business was badly affected by the move taken by government as people rarely visit hotels now a days.
