London: A 36-year-old British man, Alex Chivers has been jailed for slapping a Muslim teen with a slab of bacon. He also made Islamophobic comments at her and her mother.
According to the report published in Arab news, on Thursday, London court sentenced Alex to six months in jail for assault and a public order after he admitted his offense.
According to police, on 8th June, he approached two Muslims and made Islamophobic comments before hitting the teen with bacon. There is an increase in hate crimes, British police added.
Giving the details of the incident, Detective James Payne said that one of the persons present at the spot filmed the incident. He termed the assault “truly shocking.”
It is also reported that this incident occurred five days after some extremists attacked people on London Bridge and at Borough Market.
