BSP leader shot dead soon after Yogi Adityanath took command of UP

ALLAHABAD: Just hours after Yogi Adityanath took oath as the Chief Minister of UP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mohd. Shami was shot dead by bike borne assailants.

According to reports, the shocking incident happened on late Sunday night near Shami’s house in Mau Aima area in Allahabad when the bike borne assailants shot 5 bullets on the 60-year-old Shami due to which he died on the spot.

Shami, former Samajwadi Party leader with a tainted past has joined BSP just before the UP Assembly Election.

In the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Shami had contested against six times winner from the Kunda constituency Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya.

The murderers are still at large; police has launched manhunt and is investigating the matter.

The brutal murder has forced people to questions at the newly formed Bharatiya Janta Party government who assured to maintain law and order in the state.
