BSP will not ally with BJP or Cong in UP: Mayawati

“I want to state it clearly that BSP will not have any alliance with any party. Neither with BJP nor Congress. Our party will contest all 403 seats and we will contest on our own strength,” BSP chief Mayawati told reporters outside Parliament.

She also alleged that Samajwadi Party (SP) was spreading false “rumours” that her party will tie-up with BJP and claimed that it was SP which had joined hands with BJP.

“Recently, there have been reports in the media that BSP is tying up with BJP in the coming UP assembly elections. This is a rumour being spread by Samajwadi Party,” the former UP chief minister said.

“In fact SP has already joined hands with BJP. SP broke out from the grand alliance of Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar in Bihar to help BJP in the recently held state elections. This is a well coordinated efforts on the part of SP to spread canard,” she said.

Stepping up attack on the SP, she said, “Situation in UP is not good and the state is witnessing communal tension. People of UP want change in the state and they want BSP to come to the power.”

On V K Singh issue, she said, “We have already demanded resignation of Singh before the commencement of the session. But government is not going to take any action and it shows their anti-Dalit attitude.”

Taking on the Congress, BSP supremo said, “Atrocities were committed against downtrodden when Congress was in power in Haryana. Congress was in power both in the state and at the centre. But dalits did not get any justice. So whenever Congress raised the Dalit issue, it is for political purpose only.”

Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi staged a protest outside Parliament house demanding removal of Union Minister V K Singh for his “dog” remarks.
