Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav today directed the officials concerned to make field level visits to villages to help the Dairy farmers to flourish in future. The government will make special allocations in the budget to help the dairy development farmers and ensure that the milk production is increased manifold he said. His remarks came at a time when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sought to focus on the shortage of milk production which is not catering to the needs of the consumers.
Launching a diary and calendar of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons here he said that dairy development wing which is an allied department of agriculture will get all support from the government. The minister charged that the previous governments neglected dairy farmers and agriculture sector. Now KCR is taking all steps for their economic growth he said. KCR aware of the problems and woes of the dairy farmers and allied sectors and coming up with plans to develop them he said. He stated that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is giving priority to the allied sectors of agriculture sector including diary development and others. There are 80 per cent of people relying on agriculture including 30 per cent on diary development he said. Keeping this in view the field level official should collect details of the farmers and families involved in the dairy activities and submit a report he said.
The government will increase ex gratia of farmers to Rs 5 lakhs from Rs 1 lakh and taking steps to expand Vijaya Dairy products and giving Rs 4 a liter to dairy farmers to encourage milk production. NCDC gave Rs 400 cr for dairy development as the government gave guarantee he said adding that Rs 100 cr will be spent for Pavala Vaddi scheme to help the farmers. He also claimed that Rs 101 already spent for free distribution of fish seeds in the state.
The state government is to help the dairy department wing and the officials shoulder responsibility he said. Directing the staff of animal husbandry to put in efforts to make the department as a role model and lead Gopala Mitra scheme and offer the best services to the farmers. He said that 161 veterinary doctors were selected and 462 compounders will be appointed and offering online services. (NSS)
