Budget session of AP Assembly till March 30

The Budget session of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which started today, would be held till March 30.

A decision to this effect was taken by the House Business Advisory Committee this evening, which was chaired by Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy abstained from the meeting.

Opposition YSR Congress wanted the House to function for 40 days but it was restricted to 16 days.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will reply to motion of thanks to the Governor’s address on March 9, while the general Budget and agriculture Budget for 2016-17 will be tabled before the House on March 10.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will reply to the general discussion on the Budget on March 17, according to the agenda approved by the BAC.

The Budget session started today with the address by state Governor E S L Narasimhan.
