Building contractor shot dead in Maharashtra

Mumbai: A 36-year-old building contractor was today shot dead after two assailants allegedly pumped four bullets into him at Thakurli in neighbouring Thane district, police said.

Kishore Chaudhari, a building and an interior contractor was killed at around 11.30 AM at Cholegaon, a senior police official said.

A group of five to six men came to a flat and hurled abuses at Kishore. Two of them pumped bullets into Kishore, the officer added.

Kishore’s friend Nitin Joshi (32), who was also shot at, sustained injuries, he added.

The accused fled from the spot. After getting information, Dombivali police rushed to the spot and took both Kishore and Nitin to a nearby hospital, but Kishore was declared dead on arrival, he said.

A case has been registered and four of the accused have been identified, the officer said adding a probe was on.
