Californian Man kills girlfriend, puts weapon on sale

San Diego: A 40-year-old Californian man was sentenced to 26 years in prison on Wednesday for killing his girlfriend and dismembering her body with a machete and disposing of her remains in the jungle of Panamanian island where the couple lived for two months in 2011.

A Panamanian citizen found Yvonne Lee Baldelli 42, skeletal remains inside a backpack in 2013. The witnesses in Panama saw Brimager beating, punching, choking and threatening Baldelli to kill numerous times.

Brian Brimager had pleaded guilty for 26 years for second-degree murder. US District Judge Jeffrey T. Miller said. “This murder was particularly cruel and depraved.”

The evidence showed that he broke her teeth and nose and stabbed her multiple times before dragging her to the shower, where he dismembered her body.

Just hours after killing Baldelli, he formerly sent an email to a friend, saying: “Hey bro, whatcha up to? I got stories for days. I’m living on an island off the coast of panama loving life and living semper free!!!!!!”

According to the prosecution Brimager posted on a social media that he had a machete for sale almost like new saying ‘only used once to murder someone.’

The court documents said that. He withdrew money from Baldelli’s account after her death. He also sent emails on her laptop to make friends and family members think that she was still traveling and also killed her two dogs.

Judge Miller said. “The lengths Mr. Brimager went to avoid detection were particularly brazen and ultimately shattering to the Bardelli family. I dare say they will never recover. A day may never go by without them thinking of Ms. Baldelli’s murder and the images seared into their psyches.”
