Candidates above 25 years can appear for NEET, rules SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the candidates above 25 years to appear for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for various undergraduate courses.

The apex court also extended the date for filling the forms till April 5.

Earlier, a fresh petition was filed in the apex court, alleging that NEET-2 was tougher than the earlier one and the CBSE came out with a common result without “normalisation” or “rationalisation” of marks obtained by the medical aspirants in these two tests.

Meanwhile, the two-judge bench of the Allahabad High Court heard the affidavit from the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Centre.

The High Court had earlier on February 15 ordered the MCI, CBSE and the Centre to clarify about the imposed upper age limit of 25 years in the NEET application. (ANI)
