Caste Certificate issued by MRO is valid for admissions into MBBS/BDS courses: Effect of Siasat’s news

Hyderabad: Immediately after the publication of news item in Siasat Urdu Daily regarding the imposition of condition for the production of Caste Certificates issued by MRO, the Dept. of Minorities Welfare came into action and contacted the Chief Secretary and Registrar of Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences.

It is understood that the Chief Secretary, Mr. S.P. Singh has agreed to alter the conditions and consented that very soon orders will be issued in this regard.

It may be mentioned that the Health University had put a condition for Muslim students to obtain caste certificates from the Dept. of Minorities Welfare whereas such certificates are normally issued by MRO. The university has been accepting caste certificates of SCs, STs and BCs issued by MRO but Muslim students were asked to produce the same from the Department of Minorities Welfare. There is no system of issuing caste certificates by Dept. of Minorities Welfare.

Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare requested the Chief Secretary to instruct the authorities of Health University to accept caste certificates issued by MRO.

It is reported the Chief Secretary has affixed his signature on the file and very soon orders will be issued in this regard. Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare Affairs contacted the Registrar of Health University and requested him to extend the date of online registration which is 18th July in order to facilitate the students to get the certificates from MRO and to register their applications after the prescribed date.
