Central team visiting State to study Mission Kakatiya project works

A Central team is likely to make a study tour to the prestigious flagship program of the government Mission Kakatiya in Telangana State for two days on Monday and Tuesday.

The visit of the Central team assumes significance as the government claims that lakes restoration program has given positive results in the State by refilling lakes and water bodies. According to the information, the Central team is to conduct a two-day official visit to take stock of the lakes restoration program, which restored waters in lakes, water bodies and ponds in rural pockets.

Union Water Resources Commission is sending the team at the behest of the Centre, which has already asked several other States to study and replicate for giving boost to minor irrigation in villages. The Central team comprising some 30 officials from Delhi, Maharashtra and Odisha are expected to visit the Pedda Cheruvu at Toopran and Rayiravu cheruvu in Narsapur mandal of Medak district. (NSS)
