Centre Allots 26,387 Houses To Telangana

Hyderabad: In a major development, THE Centre today allotted 26,387 houses for Telangana to provide shelter to the poor in the State.
According to informed sources, the Centre has taken a decision to give more houses in addition to the already allotted 57,664 houses to Telangana. With this, the total number of the houses allotted to Telangana rose to 84,051 houses. The Centre also sanctioned Rs 342 crore towards construction of these houses.
After its counterpart Andhra Pradesh, which was allotted some 1.96 lakh houses, the Telangana State got more houses in the country under the Central scheme. It may be mentioned here that the State government’s efforts are fructified as Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya also exerted pressure on the issue. (NSS)
