New Delhi : The Centre on Wednesday hiked the Dearness Allowance for central government employees and pensioners by six percent.
The decision taken by the Union Cabinet would benefit 50 lakh employees and 58 lakh pensioners.
” Cabinet clears DA for serving government employees and DR for pensioners of six percent w.e.f 1/1/16,” Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media.
With this move, the DA will go up to 125 percent from existing 119 percent.
The new rate of DA will be implemented from January 1, 2016.
Earlier in September 2015, the DA was increased to 119 percent from 113 percent which was effective from July 1, 2015. (ANI)
