Centre, J-K govt. committed for development of every Kashmiri citizen: BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday reiterated that the Centre along with the Jammu and Kashmir government will make all endeavours to help every Kashmiri develop.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a true statesmen as he always does, has mentioned this earlier also the continuation of the legacy of Kashmiriyat, Jamuriyat and Insaniyat which is so important, their idea of development for everyone which includes every citizen of India including those who live in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and how we can bring all our youth to enjoy the same thing as citizen of the rest of the country do and i think that is the most important step,” BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI.

“Along with the state government I am sure the union government will work out to see how we can make every Kashmir’s aspiration to be the same as the rest of Indian citizen in terms of development peace and harmony,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi earlier said only dialogue and development can ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Every Indian loves Kashmir. The azaadi (freedom) that every Indian feels, Kashmir can feel too,” he said while speaking at an event to commemorate the sacrifices of freedom fighters on the Quit India day at revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad’s village at Bhabra in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister said he is pained to see young men pelting stones on security forces in the state.

“The boys, who should be holding laptops, bats and balls in their hands and dreams in their hearts, are ones carrying stones,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said Kashmir wants peace and the government is committed for development of the region.

“Whatever Kashmiris want for betterment of their livelihood, the Centre will help,” he said. (ANI)
