Making it clear that the Union government will extend its assistance and cooperation to transform the Hyderabad City into a world class city even though the verdict of Hyderabad people comes against them, BJP Telangana State president G Kishan Reddy has said. His party, along with Telugu Desam (TD) would develop Hyderabad city more effectively with the assistance and cooperation of the NDA government in case the duo emerged victorious, he added.
The Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) and Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) jointly organized ‘Meet the Press’ program on the ongoing GHMC elections at Basheerbagh Press Club here on Friday. BJP Telangana State president G Kishan Reddy and TTDP president L Ramana participated in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy exuded confidence that their combination (BJP+TDP) will sweep the elections and win 100 seats to grab the Mayor post. He appealed to the voters of Hyderabad to open their “third eye” to teach a lesson to the persons indulging in irregularities in the GHMC elections.
Alleging that the TRS government was only confined to mere ‘words’ and did nothing in the last 19 months to Hyderabad city, Kishan Reddy said the NDA government’s cooperation and assistance was needed to develop Hyderabad and it was possible in case BJP-TDP combine wins the polls. He also alleged that the TRS government was diverting the funds coming from GHMC to festivals instead of providing infrastructure in Hyderabad city. “The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family members are showing ‘pink dreams’ to the Hyderabad people”, he said.
Alleging that the TRS party was colluded with the MIM party for the sake of Mayor’s post, Kishan Reddy alleged that KCR family was trying to take control over the new city and Owaisi family over the Old City. He said both the parties were criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all political parties. He reminded that then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had brought funds from the Centre ruled by Atal Bihari Vajpai to bring the Krishna water to City. Finding fault with KCR for not accepting Smart City status to Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy said KCR did injustice to Hyderabad city with his stubborn attitude.
Responding on Hyderabad Central University (HCU) incident, Kishan Reddy said the incident was unfortunate. “Some political leaders are trying to show it as a big issue”, he said and demanded for a comprehensive probe into it. He said Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya had only forwarded the letters as a Union Minister to the Human Resource Development Ministry and the Ministry promptly responded on the letter as it did on Congress Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao’s letter earlier. Kishan Reddy evaded reply when reminded that the HRD Ministry didn’t respond to Hanumantha Rao’s letter.
TRS SPENDING GHMC FUNDS FOR CAMPAIGN
Speaking on the occasion, TTDP president L. Ramana alleged that the TRS party was spending GHMC funds for their election campaigning. The TRS government has transformed Hyderabad City into a huge slum in the last 19 months. Stating that the credit of keeping Hyderabad City on world map goes to TDP-BJP combination, Ramana urged the Hyderabad voters not to succumb to the mind game of KCR and requested the voters to cast their votes to TDP-BJP combination for development. He said then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu brought special recognition by bringing software companies to Hyderabad city.
Reacting to HCU student Rohit’s suicide, Ramana said AP Ministers Ravela Kishore Babu and Sujatha visited Rohit’s residence along with TTDP senior leader Mothkupally Narsimhulu and Andhra Pradesh TDP Chief Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao and assured the family that jobs will be provided to Rohit’s mother and brother.
Stating that the TDP-BJP combination did wonders in the elections whenever they contested elections in alliance, he said during their government, Hyderabad was very clean and green and then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had the credit of introducing cleaning the roads before Hyderabad wakes up.
