Chada alleges big scam in fish seed distribution

Alleging glaring irregularities in the distribution of fish seed, the State CPI has demanded that the State government order vigilance inquiry into the “scam” considering it as a serious issue.

In a pressnote here on Tuesday, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy alleged that middlemen left Rs 10 crore worth fish seed in the tanks, but the contractors received Rs 24 crore from the government as part of the prestigious fisheries development scheme in the State. He also demanded that the State government look into the issue of having big tanks in the hands of big contractors’ clutches. (NSS)
