Chada urges CM to empower officials alone to select beneficiaries

CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to rethink on handing over the selection power of beneficiaries of Kalyana Laxmi and Shadimubharak schemes to the MLAs.

In a pressnote here on Saturday, Chada alleged that every poor person in Telangana State has to roam around the TRS MLAs to avail Kalyana Laxmi and Shadimubharak schemes. Several welfare schemes like double bed rooms houses schemes were not being implemented, he alleged and said that it was not proper to allow the politicians to intervene in welfare schemes. Already the MLAs were indirectly intervening in the selection of beneficiaries of SC, ST, BC and Minority Corporations loans, he bemoaned. He said that the officials have to select the beneficiaries of any welfare scheme introduced by the government. “Otherwise, real beneficiaries will be denied in getting government introduced welfare schemes”, he said.  (NSS)
