Chandrayangutta attack case: Akbar Owaisi had firearm in his hand

Hyderabad: Hearing of the Chandrayangutta attack case in which MLA Akbar Owaisi was attacked on April 31, 2011, was held on Wednesday at the office of VII Additional Metropolitan Session Judge, Nampally Court. On the request of Defence counsel Rajuvardhan Reddy, the court permitted to watch DVC-MO.77 so that the statement of the witness can be recorded again. After watching the CD, Defense Counsel Rajuvardhan Reddy quizzed witness no 60, M Srinivas Rao Additional DCP, CID who had investigated the case as ACP CCS.

On the query of defence counsel, the witness told that Ibrahim Yafai who was injured by the bullet sustained a small wound which cannot be seen with the naked eye as it was covered with clothes. In the CD, Jaani Miya was seen with pistol in his hand and Ibrahim Yafai was seen standing beside the vehicle of Hyderabad police. In the DVC a man was shown lying down; he was wearing Adidas shoes. He was Akbaruddin Owaisi. When the defence counsel asked the witness, did Akbar Owaisi had a pistol in his hand which can be seen with the naked eye? The witness said some items were seen in Akbar Owaisi’s hand which could possibly be firearm.

The witness denied that after collecting the CD MO.77, it was doctored before submitting in the court. He also denied that the panch witness whose statement he had recorded were MIM party workers.
