Change of Maulana Azad’s scheme into Mission Bhagirata condemned by Maqsood Ahmed

Hyderabad: General Secretary of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Mohammed Maqsood Ahmed alleged that TRS Govt. of Telangana changed the scheme which was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad into Mission Bhagirata in order to get closer to BJP.

It may be recalled that during the Congress Regime, many irrigation projects were launched. For supplying drinking water to Ellampally from Hyderabad, a scheme was introduced which was named after the first education minister of India and a freedom fighter, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Its construction works is in the last stages.

He further alleged that after the completion of elections right from Grampanchayat to Lok Sabha, TRS is making an attempt to get closer to BJP. During the BJP regime, Govt. changed the names of cities, in the same manner, TRS Govt. changed the irrigation scheme which was named after Maulana Azad to Mission Bhagirata.

He expressed the apprehension that TRS might enter into coalition with BJP anytime. In order to show his political strength in Telangana, Mr. KCR spent Rs. 50 crore from the public treasury to organize PM’s public meeting. He further alleged that Govt. is misusing public funds and utilizing Govt. machinery to popularize TRS party.
