Charminar, Makkah Masjid and Golconda Fort not included in 86 historical monuments

Hyderabad: The international fame earned by Hyderabad for its historical buildings like Charminar, Golconda Fort, Makkah Masjid and Salarjung Museum is in danger. There are many historical buildings which are the pride of Hyderabad. Foreign tourists are attracted to see these buildings.

Archeological Survey of India has recently prepared a list of 86 places of Historical importance in which not a single place from Telangana has been included. From A.P. Nagarjuna Konda is the only place which finds entry in the list. Many organizations in the field of heritage buildings are irritated on this move for not including in the list “Must See”. It is construed as a conspiracy to discourage tourism in Telangana State.

Govt. of Telangana is making lofty claims to promote tourism but its silence on this issue is incomprehensible. The Dept. of Archeology of Telangana State said that this list has been prepared by the officials of the Dept. of Archeological Survey of India in New Delhi. If the Govt. of Telangana invites the attention of Central Govt. for the inclusion of historical places of the State, tourism in Telangana could be promoted.
